The land market on Samui is extremely active. Since we arrived here in the 1980's land values have been steadily and exponentially increasing.
Samui has long been the first choice of large and small investors and people looking for a vacation home. It is certainly the most convenient island to visit, live and do business with its airport, shopping centers, banks, hospitals, hotels and soon, movie theaters. However, as it becomes ever more popular, people have started looking for a more quiet option are turning their interest towards nearby islands such as Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, Koh Tan and even Suratthani and Khanom on the mainland.
The hotel business is booming for those interested in resort development. The new interest in eco-tourism is fuelling development of more remote and environmentally friendly retreats.
