PADI DIVER CERTIFICATIONS The PADI Scuba Diver Course: The duration of this course is 2 days. This course certifies the diver to dive on guided dives only to a maximum depth of 12m/40ft . This certification has just over half of the requirements of Open Water Diver: It requires Classroom/Theoretical Training Modules #1, #2 and #3, Confined/pool #1, #2 and #3 and Open Water Dives #1 and #2. It can be upgraded to PADI Open Water Diver if the student completes the remaining requirements within one year of certification or longer with some re-training. OPTION A: Day 1 10am-5pm classroom and pool training in Koh Samui. Day 2 10am-4pm 2 Open Water Training Dives off the beach in Koh Samui. OPTION B: Day 1 10am-4pm classroom and pool training in Koh Samui. Day 2 7:30am-5pm 2 Open Water Training Dives on 1-day boat trip to Koh Tao.
The PADI Open Water Diver Course: The course duration is 3-4 days. This is the full, internationally recognized course certifying the diver to dive to a maximum recommended depth of 18m/60ft. It requires 5 Classroom/Theoretical Training Modules, 5 Confined or Pool Diving Modules and 4 Open Water Dives. The student has 3 options to choose from, depending on where he/she would like to complete the 4 required course dives on the final 2 days of the course (the local option is cheaper but the visibility out at Koh Tao is much better). OPTION A: Days1 + 2 10am-4pm classroom and pool training in Koh Samui. Days 3 + 4 10am-4pm 2 Open Water Training Dives off the beach in Koh Samui. OPTION B: Days 1 + 2 10am-4pm classroom and pool training in Koh Samui. Day 3 10am-4pm 2 Open Water Training Dives off the beach in Koh Samui. Day 4 7:30am-5pm 2 Open Water Training Dives on 1-day boat trip to Koh Tao. OPTION C: Days1 + 2 10am-4pm classroom and pool training in Koh Samui. Days 3 + 4 7:30am-5pm Open Water Training Dives on two 1-day boat trips to Koh Tao.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course: The course duration is 2-3 days. After a student completes the PADI Open Water Diver Course he/she will want to get more training and experience in various specialty areas of diving. This course certifies the diver to a depth of 30m/100ft. It requires 5 dives consisting of 1 Deep Dive, 1 Navigation Dive and 3 others of the student's choice (Night Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Photography, Multilevel and Computer , Search and Recovery, Boat, Fish ID, etc.) OPTION A: Day 1 10am-5pm 3 Open Water Training Dives off the beach in Koh Samui (Night Dive completed off the beach in Koh Samui 6pm-8pm ) Day 2 10am-4pm 2 Open Water Training Dives on 1-day boat trip to Koh Tao. OPTION B: Days1+ 2 7:30am-5pm 2-3Open Water Training Dives on two 1-day boat trips to Koh Tao/Sail Rock .
The PADI Rescue Diver Course: Course Duration Approx. 2 days . An Advanced Open Water may join this course to learn self-rescue and accident prevention and management skills. The course includes classroom training and open water practice in 12 rescue scenarios. A pre-requisite is the Emergency Response Course or a CPR certification. This course does not include a boat trip.
Emergency First Response: CPR ½ day (Primary Care) First Aid ½ day (Secondary Care)
This is the first level of PADI Professional Membership. Pre-requisites are the diver must be at least 18 years old, be a PADI Rescue Diver or Equivalent and have at least 20 logged dives. The course is taught as an apprenticeship and can last form 2-6 weeks.
